Indeed..

Admittedly I feel too out of touch with media-arts culture in NZ to attempt a
relevant/useful suggestion. So, I find myself either defaulting to generic
proposals or raising a chipped shield in defense of Damian's.

Here are a few for the record:

1/ A Spain<->NZ exchange program (La Coruna, Leon and Seville are
antipodal to
CHCH, Wellington, Auckland). I could help with the Spanish interface.

        2/ Public content distribution platforms:

                - Leveraging mid-tier phones for a mass hand-held exhibition
featuring
works by list members. Could be locative, dislocative,
augmented,
textual, aural, all or none of these.

                - Mixed-reality platform for bringing digital sculpture to
public space
targeting smartphones. This is an area I'm working in right
now, so
yes, your reading of bias is perfectly correct.

                - 'Urban Screens', expensive without hardware sponsorship.
Worked out
well for Federation Square, Melbourne however.

                - Yes, That Incumbent Bus: mobile gallery and workshop,
rear-projection
                  screen, streetside moving-image/software-art program.

        3/ A hardware-for-art corporate interface a la
http://lowtech.org/intro/ for
media-arts spaces in NZ more generally.

I'll pop a couple up on the wiki regardless.

'SnorkeLab'?

Just dropping it in the pool, so to speak..
