Hi Su
Last year Dugal McKinnon and I kicked off a new partnership, Now Future, by
curating a virtual performance on August 30th at the Adam Art Gallery called
Ice Melt. It was on the closing night of The Future is Unwritten, curated by
Laura Preston.

We had four performances: from Rarotonga (Sarah Jane Parton) via Skype line,
from Napier (Martin Poppelwell) via Skype, from Auckland (Sam Hamilton) via
telephone and a live performance from Murray Hewitt with Andy Hummel in the
gallery. The gallery was the central hub of the event, and we broadcast it back
out via Ustream.tv

Even with some impromptu communication and recording failures, it was
nonetheless an enjoyable attempt at creating a temporary virtual community.
Let me know if you want more info.

We will have more info and evidence of the performance on our new site,
www.Nowfuture.org.nz (due for launch later this month).

Great to hear about the archive/database. All the best
Sophie Jerram
