Hi, sounds like you need to make sure your vid card is set to a decent
refresh rate (85-90hz) You shouldn't get any flicker/banding, check you have
the best drivers for your video card and the same for your monitor. You can
change all the settings quite easily in control panel. I use both TFT & CRT
22inch Iiyama, and 17inch tft Iiyama, 22 runs on a Radeon 9800 pro at 90hz,
TFT runs again on Radeon 9600Pro at 85hz, and no flicker, ever. Modern CRT's
don't normally have any problems. I calibrate both of them weekly via an
optix XR colorimeter/Monaco, as I work in print a lot as well. With normal
refresh rates on Monitors you shouldn't get any problems, unless the monitor
is on the edge of its envelope, then it will generally have a bad quality
image and look like it, Hope this helps.
Regards
Brian
