RESPONSE
Jeff,
This is a misunderstanding. Sony Trinitron tubes scan horizontally like all
others.

To the lady suffering with flicker problems.... Have you tried increasing
the refresh rate of your display to something like 85Hz? If not, try it and
see if that helps. The adjustment is in the 'Display' section of your
'Control panel'.
