I just wanted to add my $0.02 to this discussion. I acquired Encore when I
upgraded to Premiere CS3 and really like it. I found it easy to use and have
achieved excellent results every time - although I suspect that it works
best with lost of RAM (I have 8 GB). I have used AVI files, m2v, wav, ac3
and it all works just fine. And the menu capabilities are just great when
combined with Photoshop.

Subject: [AP] Encore - Frustration

Is it just me? I found Encore really difficult to use. Whenever I switch to
another window and go back to Encore, it takes about 5 to 6 seconds before
it gains focus.

I am still having problem with Encore's Transcoding. I imported a bunch of
DVD compliant MPEG2 file I encoded using Procoder. Using the same preset,
some files allow me to set "Don't Transcode" but some won't even have that
option. Some shows me choose "Don't Transcode" but it goes back to
"Automatic" right away. Any suggestions of what am I do wrong?

Should I import all AVI and let encore do the transcoding instead?

Thanks

Taky
