Is there a way of smoothly playing back HDV on the computer screen? I find any
panning shots or zooming shots to be slighly jerky (by slightly i mean bad
enough to prevent reading of shop signs etc as the shops slowly scroll across
the frame).

I'm under the impression that this is to do with playback on the PC being
progressive while the footage is captured as interlaced. I gather this because
returning the edited footage to the camera then playing back through the TV is
okay. The computer is quad core/8gb ram/beefy video card etc so I know its not
a speed issue

I have tried the deinterlacing and antiflicker options in Premiere and tried
various deinterlacing options in VLC player - this only helps slightly (but
also degrades the picture).

Are there any solutions? How are you HDV editing guys coping?
