The codec of the GH2 is much better and you can
tell that from looking at the image quality. No
more mud and artifacts, the GH1 image could be
really bad sometimes. Also the GH2 does great at
higher ISOs, 800 still looks good, 1600 still is
usable. With the GH1 anything above 400 is
getting really bad. Shooting in low light with
the GH2 is amazing, it will go to it's highest
ISO (6400?), image looks quite grainy, but also
looks still well lit. Put an normal video cam
like the HMC151 next to it in same room, and the
output image will be as good as black. I'm not
joking. The GH2 would do great as a surveillance
cam as well and I'm considering getting it
customized for infra-red for shooting wildlife at
night purposes. I think it will be great for that.

Also the GH2 has real push focus. On the GH1 you
can only chose between manual and constant auto
focus which results in the constant focus
seeking. Push focus is much better, you use the
auto focus only for a second and when subject is
in focus you release push focus button so camera won't seek for focus anymore.
