Here's one little institutional decision that might be of interest: the choice of logo for the Cincinnati Art Museum - comparing 50 years ago with today.
Note how that 1950's design (on top -- by Noel Martin) has the dynamics you might find in a an abstract, geo-form painting of that era. Then, consider, below it, the design which the museum is using today.
