It’s not an AP problem.
I can log into a Rackinjector/Syncinjector and see the problem. It sees no sats or intermittently sees no sats and says it is not outputting a 1pps signal. Luckily they let you toggle power to the external GPS device (typically a Syncpipe or Syncbox) and that has seemed to clear it. Same with the Cambium cnPulse, luckily the AP lets you turn UGPS power on and off, and again, that seems to have fixed it. Unfortunately Cambium makes you reboot the AP after this change so I can’t 100% say it was just toggling power to the cnPulse that did it, but I’d bet money on it. Unfortunately I have 2 sites with unmanaged Syncinjectors that I’m going to have to visit. It’s just 2 APs and they are generating sync, so I have just made an executive decision to wait until tomorrow morning when it’s light outside. Whoever said it seems like a firmware bug in a particular GPS chips that Packetflux and Cambium use in some of their equipment, yes, that seems a likely explanation. Maybe some end of year or end of decade thing, although it doesn’t seem to have happened at midnight UTC.
