Once upon a time, I was an EMT with a small volunteer fire department.
Sometimes I drove, sometimes I was in the back. I don’t ever recall using the
siren other than to train new volunteers as to where the button was.

I hated that in EMS. Those people who had to switch between every siren and lay
on the air horn the whole ride. Those are the same ones with embedded lightbars
in their personal vehicles that thought that meant they could blow stop lights
and pull people over.

I cant imagine how irritated I'd be now with these LEDs.

Being rural, it's funny how common it is for farmers to complain that the
lights and sirens bother their cows

Used to be the big dick people were satisfied with an air horn kit. Apparently
it has escalated to blinging lights. And of course roo bars. To mount more
lights on. And for when the drivers you blinded crash into you.

We install those on public safety vehicles. There is definitely a big dick
complex with these guys and how many lights they can shove on something. This
is the first I have heard about installing a light sensor for the LED's which
would seem to be a great idea. I am not aware that any manufacturer has
implemented that internally as a factory option.

I've started seeing more Semi Trucks with an LED Light bar mounted center on
the front bumper. I guess it make sense when you're driving across the
Nebraska flatlands in the middle of the night, but not on the city expressway.

Luckily my F-150 is not an emergency vehicle, so I feel perfectly

of course when I turn on the fog lights, and go bambi mode, it goes way,
way up.
