Honestly, get the small Lenovo Duet. It's a tad large for a tablet (10"), but will get monthly updates for at least another 5 years, plus it can be used as a laptop with the included detachable keyboard.
It will run all the new PWAs and a lot of other stuff too. Sure, you will need a dongle if you want to hardwire ethernet, but you'd have to do that for any other tablet as well.

That makes sense, just seems strange the only app that has problems it the RDP app. It works perfect for all my streaming videos. For $120 I'm not complaining though. Like I said, 98% of it's usage is just to watch videos on. And the battery lasts for an entire week between charges.

The spam on the android platforms is why I have only bought google built androids for the last 10 years... I don't like the way the apple ui works, too much stuff hidden from easy access or I just know how to get behind stuff on the android and one of the most used apps is wifi-analyzer and there wasn't a tool like that on apple, last I checked. I do use an ipad for the digital dash on the RV as it's the best integration for it.

ok, I will give the real answer before saying buy a used iPad
The Pixel5 you have has 8GB of ram and that tablet only has 3GB of ram running bigger versions of everything
top that with a much worse MediaTek CPU in the Samsung over the better snapdragon in the Pixel5
and the better GPU in the pixel 5
That is why the tablet is slow
That being said iPad tight hardware-software integration allows for much lower RAM and better GPU RDP will run much smoother even on an older iPad
I was a die-hard android fan for years but as of late unless you have a flagship android device at the $700 or more price point they all have added spam including even Oppo (same as one plus) and lower-end Samsung devices which are probably also adding to your poor experience

I went through three !! of these cheep tablets.. Each one died with
screen failure.. Two different makers, one Samsung.. I gave up because
they died after I had put all my access info in them and did not want to
send them in and have someone have access to all my android account
info... So they are gun fodder waiting the next trip into the woods...
Changed to an apple for reliability...
