We use stainless steel banding to attach conduit to water tower legs. I repelled down the tower banding as I went. 150 ft in 30 minutes. Really works well. Tricky part is getting the band around the leg without it flipping over given I couldn’t reach around the leg. Fun time actually.
We used 316 ½” x 0.030” band with a breaking strength of 1,200 lbs. ¾” x 0.030” is around 1,800 lbs. The trick is to use it with the band in tension and not applying any twisting loads that could tear.
