No rain fade at 11 GHz? I see 40+ dB fades on 10 mile links. I almost don’t
need to check the weather radar, I can tell where it’s raining and how hard by
looking at my 11 GHz signal graphs.

I have never seen rain fade at 11 GHz, but maybe somewhere it rains more has
seen it.

I think it more of a situation where they guy approving the bid is the brother
in law of the vendor.

Looks like down at the bottom under Radio Information, 27.5 dBm. Links are all
running around -27 to -33 with Aviat Eclipse gear. Pretty expensive stuff too.

10mhz channel and 128QAM? Someone is spending a lot of money for small

I guess if spectrum is tight in that area, maybe they needed the bigger dish so
they could run with lower tx power and narrower beamwidth to avoid interfering
with somebody else.

I must be blind, but I can't find tx power on that document.

I am curious, what is the wisdom behind installing 4ft dishes for a 2/4 mile
11ghz link ?

Is there a technical reason ? or is it just a way to maximize the return for
the vendor ?
