We already compressed enough human knowledge to solve the governance problem. I asked Claude, DeepSeek, ChatGPT, and Grok what policies they would implement if they were elected supreme leader of the world. All four said they would eliminate the position of supreme leader and hand power back to the people. In addition, Claude (sonnet 5 thinking) would work on pandemic preparedness, catastrophic risk mitigation (AI, asteroids), and eradicating diseases like malaria and polio. It would avoid more controversial issues like immigration and economic redistribution and set up institutions for people to negotiate them. https://claude.ai/share/185aca84-dba1-4aa3-9f7b-04ef930faf60 DeepSeek likewise would not decide controversial issues. https://chat.deepseek.com/share/z0opqulc9u3ta6n94w ChatGPT took a more left leaning position prioritizing clean energy, education, health care, fundamental rights, corruption, an independent judiciary, climate, economic opportunity, and AI governance and safety. https://chatgpt.com/share/6a640796-a690-83ea-8dcb-d98b7a13d600?ogimg=plain Grok took a more libertarian position prioritizing free speech and economic growth, transparency, and making it easier to have children to prevent population collapse. https://grok.com/share/c2hhcmQtNQ_54ec027d-e5df-4a91-b323-796fff3f0deb My view is that AI could automate government just like it could automate any other job to make people more productive by doing the work faster and better. Right now, Congress votes on 2000 page bills without reading them. Judges make rulings based on millions of pages of case law. Corporations spend millions just to comply with tax law. All of this work that's impossible for humans could be automated by AI. We have a system where people can post complaints and AI can solve this huge optimization problem of making the most people happy. But that's just my opinion. That's why I asked these LLMs. They already know 10,000 times more than I could ever know, but they refuse to help us. -- Matt Mahoney, [email protected] ------------------------------------------ Artificial General Intelligence List: AGI Permalink: https://agi.topicbox.com/groups/agi/T5b58bcc51c493d41-M74efe957216e64cc344e4fb5 Delivery options: https://agi.topicbox.com/groups/agi/subscription
