In the Big Dog video at 36 seconds, a man kicks the robot. It stumbles but stays upright. Can you explain why it does not get angry and attack the man, or afraid and run away? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1czBcnX1Ww Could it be because the researchers did not program Big Dog to have these emotions? Do you think such emotions arise by magic? Or perhaps by 500 million years of natural selection? Is Big Dog sentient? How can you tell? -- -- Matt Mahoney, [email protected] ------------------------------------------- AGI Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/21088071-f452e424 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21088071&id_secret=21088071-58d57657 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
