Mixing science and software engineering usually has interesting results. But
I don't like to be the one to break the news to you - if software
engineering waited for science, all the wonderful things with software, the
internet, et. al. we have now - WOULD NOT EXIST. Technology, especially
software related moves so fast sometimes and in spurts that obeying the
scientific method law - NO WORKIE. So when you get these AI egoistic
scientific grumpy crotchety guys complaining that their name is not in stars
due to all the years of work they've put in, naturally you will get some
disheartening behavior. Nonetheless I do feel more science is needed, and in
particular math. I like the way math mixes with software, internet and
computer technology verses how it works with science when theorizing and
developing AGI.
