User nigelbee changed the following: What |Old value |New value ================================================================================ Status|CLOSED |UNCONFIRMED -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resolution|INVALID | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------- Additional comments from nigel...@openoffice.org Fri Jul 17 20:37:36 +0000 2009 ------- I have now found what was wrong. My OpenOffice user profile was corrupt. When an OpenOffice 2 user profile is copied into OpenOffice 3, the new profile that is generated is corrupt because the file formats are incompatible. Here are the instructions for resetting the user profile: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=12426#p58403 Following these instructions sorted out all the problems reported in this thread. This link says: "Note that if you had a version 2.x installed before, version 3 asks if you want to transfer your personal data, that is import your former 2.x profile. Don't check that option! It can wreck the new profile because of deprecated configuration files." Can users be given a warning about this when they are asked to set up a Version 3 profile? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
