Perhaps it would be good to keep this issue marked as unresolved until I have it
resolved :)

I followed your latest instructions to no avail. I would like to change the
single issue of this bug to something more clearly articulated than the original
post:

Bug:
A fresh install of oo.org 3.2 on Ubuntu 9.10 (32bit) fails to provide any
functioning wizards in the Base application. The wizard item appears as a
selection, but nothing happens when you double click (Non-functioning Base
wizards: Table, Query, Form, and Report). This happens after installing per the
procedure you just outlined. In particular, here is the procedure:
1) Removed, via aptitude, all openoffice.org installed packages.
2) Removed the .openoffice.org directory in home path (to eliminate any previous
user profile [I had done this before, by the way, even though I hadn't mentioned
it to you in this bug report, so this was not likely the issue] ).
3) Installed the Sun Java JRE (JRE 6) via aptitude
4) Installed the Debian packages via the last instructions provided in this bug
thread by Sun. (i.e. download the deb package archive from your site for 32 bit
Debian Linux, unzip/tar it, use sudo dpkg -i *.deb on resulting folder, change
to desktop integration folder and again use sudo dpkg -i *.deb.
5) Run Base from resulting menus, and fill out original oo.org user info as
prompted on a fresh install when the user profile is non-existent.
6) Select my existing database (unregistered originally in this new install,
which I think confirms a fresh user profile) and open my database.
7) Again, none of the wizards work as already described.

I am not certain what to try next.

I have double checked that the JRE is installed. Should I uninstall it and
reinstall it? I am just leary of all this uninstall reinstall stuff. I spend a
lot of time spinning my wheels, and nothing changes.

Something is missing!!!
