  they are plugged in everywhere, it's the 5.1 cambridge
soundsystem (sort of made for sb live), it has color coded
cables that match the outputs on the card (iirc beige subwoofer, green
front, black rear)

  I have found: 'SB Live Analog/Digital Output Jack' (very last
item in alsamixer). When I toggle it I get:

  - unmuted: very bad sound from front speakers (but Master
    volume works!)
  - muted: normal sound (Master has no effect)

  it doesn't have any influence on headphone sound (nor does
Master control)

  as mentioned before: 5.1
