Check the /etc/services file on the client that cannot connect.  There
should be a line like this:

amandaidx       10082/tcp

While you're looking there, you might check that the "amidxtape" entry is
present.  Here are all of the Amanda services entries from my machine:

amanda          10080/udp  #Amanda dump server control
amandaidx       10082/tcp  #Amanda indexing
amidxtape       10083/tcp  #Amanda tape indexing

You'll probably want all of those lines in your /etc/services (on all Amanda
servers and clients) too.
