amrecover

hi i got amanda-24.2p2 server running on solaris 8 box and tw amanda-clients working on redhat 7.1 machines. i used compiled the amanda on solaris box but useed the rpms on linux clients
( amanda-2.4.2p2-1 and amanda-client-2.4.2p2-1)
 
when i try to run amrecover , one client get connected to the server , but the other client gives an error message
 
amrecover: amandaidx/tcp unknown protocol.
 
what i should look in to.
