Hi there..
Hi Youness.
This is a huge insult to all muslims, and for many reasons, not only
because they are associating our beloved prophet with terrorism, but also because no image/drawing representing the prophet is allowed in Islam (to avoid iconography.. having an icon as an idol, the prophet being simply a
messenger shouldn't be represented).. so not only did they violate this
law, but also they are implicitly telling the whole world that muslims are
terrorists!

I understand your opinion even if i'm agnostic.
Journalists (if they're really journalists) shouldn't act this way
just because of respect.
Don't be shocked by those drawings ! It's not the first time and
neither the last. I've seen a lot of "caricatures". For some, it's not
allowed to draw naked people (believe me, such people exists !) but we
continue to see such drawings (i'm not a porno addict Jérome !) in
art. For example, there was a lot of drawings displaying bush killing
children with bombs in his hand; and, i think, no apologize is needed
!

haha.. yeah, ou can talk about naked people, about bush.. but never compare bush to the prophet, please! come on! one is a bastard, and the other one is the messenger of God... you can't mix 'normal people' with prophets.. that's the whole difference.. if you talk about drawings on the christ.. then I answered that already on my reply to Christian..

if people beleive it's not true, don't worry, children who
will see these pictures will grow up with that idea (brainwashing the
people, as always.. same as what happened with wearing the hijab (the
veil),
now everyone thinks a woman with the hijab is a woman who is beaten
and has no human rights, etc... while it is the total opposite, and noone
ever thought of it as the exact same of christan nuns...)

(a bit off here, but i just want women to be free, if they CHOOSE
(it's an issue in many religions. yes, christians too !) that
religion, there's no problem for me. )

cool

Anyways, I won't debate on all this. The thing is that those caricatures
were out, official mulsim associations requested them to be removed and
excuses be sent to the islamic people.. the president of danemark refused to give us excuses, the newspaper that published those images also refused
to remove them, and alot of other public companies supported the
newspaper!! This has no sense, especially when you hear a politician say
"bush is stupid for doing it this way" and he gives his excuses to the USA
and leaves all political activities because he wasn't 'politically
correct'.. but for muslims, no way they give excuses.. The most shocking
part of all this for me was when I heard that France, Norway and Germany
published those same images in protest AGAINST muslims!!!

First it's not France, but a newspaper in france ! (and i don't buy
such newspaper).

not sure, but I think the government was supporting it... or by not preventing it, they helped.. I'm sure if France government replied to that by saying that the newspaper was wrong, then France will be left as not being from the oppposite side... + you could say "it's the journalist's fault, it's the newspaper's fault, etc..." but don't forget that there are regulations to all this, and if those drawings passed the regulations, then the whole country looks like they approved it... But I do think that it is unfair to blame a whole country for one's stupidity...

they protest,
saying that it's 'freedom of speech' and they should be allowed to publish those images if they want.. I was really shoked to think people would say
things like this!! because I though freedom of speech is to have the
freedom to say the truth without anyone forcing us to keep things quiet...
now it became freedom of speech meaning you can lie and disrespect a
religion!!! Where is our freedom in this ???

Ok, those drawings should not be displayed because they are trying to
change the mind, in a very bad way, of people about muslims. It's a
kind of "call to war", for me, againts muslims.

Anyways, it's been a huge hit to the muslim community, a lot of trouble is taking place everywhere especially in Palestine I think because they just
can't handle any more humiliations...

About Palestine, it's a huge issue; and from United Nations !

UN, US, Israel...

muslims never attacked a church
yes. Vikings did so :p

euhh... :P

Anyways.. just imagine if we released in the arabic world
images of Jesus/Mary in humiliating postitions and I don't want to give
any examples of such images that could be released.. what would the other
countries say ?

Me, i wouldn't do smthg, neither mind something about it.

I don't think they'll ever say anything, they'll just send
some missiles to the headquarters of the newspaper who released these
images...

Stop watching cnn or fox (only USA with bush will do it)(i can comment
a lot when there were "riots" in suburbs about those two medias !) !!
Such images already exists, and not from muslims.

I am NOT watching those! I know they are untrustworthy.. I'm talking about them or about general tvs because that's what others will watch..

now imagine countries taking position and doing the same
claiming it's "freedom of speech"...
Anyways, I'm not a religious guy, I am indeed muslim, but I'd say muslim
of education and beliefs but not of actions.. I mean, I never prayed, I
never follow any of the rules or anything.. but one thing I can't stand,
is when people disrespect one of God's religions (no matter which one)...
(...)
I don't approve it, as it is against Islam to act this violently, but I do
understand their reaction...
I don't want to start a flamewar, especially not on this subject, so I
don't want people to start answering this mail and flaming other's
opinions..

Oops, too late.

I would just want to have everyone's opinion on this, but I
don't want people to comment on other's opinion.. If I see someone say
something untrue or with whom I disagree, I will control myself and not
answer to avoid the flaming... (which means if I don't answer, it doesn't mean I agree with you :P). In any case, no matter what your choice is and what you think, it's the same for me as long as you say it in a respectful
manner!!
Could everyone go vote on the website, it's important to everyone I think!

The poll is :
Devant la polémique suscitée par la publication de caricatures
représentant Mahomet et l'associant parfois au terrorisme, quelle est
votre réaction ?
'In front of' the polemic that was brought by the publication of the
caricatures representing Mahomet and sometimes associating it with
terrorism, what is your reaction ?

The choices are :
Vous comprenez l'indignation qu'elles suscitent parmi les musulmans . == >
You understand the indignation that they brought amongst muslims
+1

I just to add a few things.
I've got friends praying in a lot of religions (sorry, it's in part in
french)( christians, muslims, "boodistes", and "orthodoxes") and i
respect them all.

Then, this newspaper was published on 30th september 2005.
Why do muslims react NOW ???

Still unclear to me, I explained what I though in the reply to Christian too...

If such events occurs, they are not from one country ! Just from at
least two guys : the drawer and the director who accepts such drawings
!
true.. but depends on who 'supports' them...

And then, when you read something, mind it ! Good journalists are very
very rare, believe me !
It's not because our president says something that we all agree with
him ! (i don't know his reaction about it, it's just an example)

people are fed up..

Greetings.
