The only thing in the "Chat" menu he'll notice is the "invite" command. So it's not like it doesn't belong in this menu for this reason. to clear the output window is really an action on "the chat" in the way it's represented. If you really want it out of the "Chat" menu, it would much better fit in "View" then in "Edit".
