I would definitely like to have my baby on the phone, but doesn't necessarily need to be on a Google Phone. Actually, the thing that I do not like about companies like Google is that they say one thing and do other things. I remember seeing one of the comments in these posts, which said that quality is more important than quantity. I would really like to know, what efforts were put in, to see the quality of the system within 2 minutes of judging. It's just that they wanted to see all the ideas and take the best out of them and do a mix n match to come up with the final set of applications for their phones. We put in about three months of effort to bring a good system up and running on Android. If they really wanted to know the ideas, then we could have sent them an e-mail, with the list of ideas.
Anyway, I do not want to speculate too much into what their interests are, as I do understand that, it's not worth thinking about it. I already have my baby on the Symbian and Windows platform (thanks to MapPoint and Virtual Earth). Believe me, its much more easier to develop your ideas on those platforms and the good thing is that you can see them live on real phones. Also, if you want to go to a Venture Capitalist, you don't want to go with an emulator in your hand. You would rather want to have a real phone doing the real thing, to convince your venture capitalist. I am already having considerable success in this regard. Google just wants these developers to be held back, by showing some cheap advantages like participation in Google I/ O and chance to interact with other OHA members. But, I feel, if we pursue our idea and continue with the same commitment and motivation, maybe we would earn more than $500000, even before google phones become available in the market. So say good bye to Google phone, for now, and start working on real phones to prove your point Good Luck to all the developers out there.
