I wouldn't be so sure of that. Any app that is popular enough is going to find its way to pirate sites pretty soon, and the LVL is (unfortunately) completely inadequate to prevent that. So why risk the goodwill of the people who have actually purchased the app, but adding in code that has repeatedly been shown to have these kind of issues, to inconvenience the people who won't buy your app under any circumstances? Anyone who is stupid enough to download potentially harmful cracked apps in order to save a couple of bucks, is unlikely to be the kind of person who'd ever pay for them. If the anti-piracy protection was worth something, then ... sure.
