I'm really sorry, but I still can't seem to figure this out. The last time I posted a thread like this, the answer was that you COULD use a G1 after taking out a SIM card that had been activated with a data plan. Since then I've found that T-Mobile doesn't even offer month-to-month data plans (technically they do, but you need a permanent voice plan to get it). Not only that, but the T-Mobile clerk said it would be fradulent to use a G1 without a data plan, presumably because it would be using their service without paying for it (? Maybe because Google has some sort of a deal worked out with T-Mobile?). However, they also said it was illegal to buy a G1 from anyone but them, which I'm much more sure is incorrect.
So my questions now are: 1. Is there in fact a legal way to run a non-ADP Android phone with enough capability for testing without any current plan? 2. Where's the cheapest place to get an ADP, if it comes to that? eBay doesn't seem to have any. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
