I did some tests two years ago with different xvid encoding options. It
left me the impression that the bottle neck on zaurus is screen
redrawing instead of decoding. So I guess the bvdd part helps the video
performance on c3x00 much more than iwmmxt optimized instructions.
Please correct me if I'm totally off the base.

I'm certainly interested. I think once Angstrom stabilizes and more
users come to use it on daily basis. The demand for this feature will be
increasing.

In my limited test of transcoding the movies, GMC on or off makes little
difference on performance on my tosa. That is one of the factor that
influenced my impression that decoding is not the bottle neck on Z.
