Hi Lex,

Thanks for this e-mail. I will try to understand how you managed to make
this work, as it now works with my hx 4700 (with your bootbundle). A really
nice thing that you did.

I will try to adapt this to using a graphical interface (at the place of a
mere console).

Thanks!

P.S.: Do not feel guilty, I learnt a lot of things thanks to you.

Hello Luca,

I'm sorry that you're continuing to have problems, and I have a few
ideas as to caused them.

This looks like some linefeeds got into my email text. I was worried
that something like this might happen, since I was not able to send my
text files as an attachment. I'm currently putting together a .tar.gz
file with all of my bootbundle stuff, so you can try it on your hx4700.

You can download this, temporarily, at
http://brooknet.imap.cc/hx4700_bootbundle.tar.gz

MD5SUM check:
'md5sum hx4700_bootbundle.tar.gz' should return:
4e6429874f12c662073dd9eaa3b6c261 hx4700_bootbundle.tar.gz

This archive contains:

drwxr-xr-x lex/lex 0 2009-11-05 19:44 ./hx4700_bootbundle/

The kernel:
-rw-r--r-- lex/lex 1282972 2009-11-01 05:29
./hx4700_bootbundle/zImage-2.6.21-hh20

The HaRET startup script:
-rw-r--r-- lex/lex 481 2009-11-01 08:21
./hx4700_bootbundle/startup.txt.bootimage

Some blurb that I wrote, so I'd know what this was:
-rw-r--r-- lex/lex 51 2009-11-01 05:38
./hx4700_bootbundle/zImage-2.6.21-hh20.txt

A script to build the initramfs (should be run from the initramfs root dir):
-rwxr-xr-x lex/lex 114 2009-11-01 07:58
./hx4700_bootbundle/make-initrd.sh

hx4700 Windows Mobile 2003 boot bundle executable:
-rw-r--r-- lex/lex 6687640 2009-11-01 08:21
./hx4700_bootbundle/bootbundle-011109-082153.exe

The initramfs image, used to build the above:
-rw-r--r-- lex/lex 5266939 2009-11-05 19:43
./hx4700_bootbundle/initramfs.cpio.gz

HaRET:
-rw-r--r-- lex/lex 137216 2009-11-05 19:44
./hx4700_bootbundle/haret-0.5.2.exe

A script to run the make-bootbundle.py Python program, and name the
bootbundle with the current date:
-rwxr-xr-x lex/lex 211 2009-11-01 06:37
./hx4700_bootbundle/bootbundle.sh

I figure that if you see how I did this, it might be useful.

I think that most of your trouble comes down to mistakes that /I've/
made - I'm still learning how to do this and I am not very confident
when helping others when they have problems. I think that I may have
made it all sound a lot more difficult than it is.

download

I looked, but could only find very old hx4700 stuff.
