Concerning httpS:

There is a possibility that arachane can use a proxy server that I
used to solve a similar problem at work. Go to the web page:

wall.etl.go.jp/delegate/ssl/

and you will read about a proxy server called delegate that is free
and under current development, along with a companion filter called
sslway.exe.

wall.etl.go.jp/delegate/

To get links to download both delegate and sslway.

Delegate is a proxy server that can run on your client PC as a TSR.
After connecting to your ISP, arachane should be able to send the
socket level data it usually sends out the point to your own computer,
as a proxy server. Delegate then takes it in, filters it in the way
you tell it to, in this case - encryptes and decripts https requests,
and sends them off to and from their internet destinations.

At work I used this software to give SSL 128 encryption capability to
an internet program that did not have it (that only accepted http
requests, etc.). I ran delegate in a dos box under win 95 and ran
the application in win 95. However, I do not think delegate cares
about windows.

If this works, it is an easy way to add https and SSL encryption to
arachne, and buy all those internet goodies that require a secure
connection.

Give it a try and let us all know. Maybe Ill do it, but I dont buy
on the internet.
