There are other ways (host, whois, etc. or just by asking) of finding out your ISP's DNS numbers besides getting them "dynamically" every time you connect. Once you know them, you don't have to use dynamic DNS.
My local Freenet uses dynamic DNS, but on one of their lines, one of the server assigned DNS numbers doesn't work with DOS or Linux. With LSPPP, I use /N with the correct DNS numbers and ignore the dynamically assigned ones. Howard E. -- <http://www.ncf.ca/~ag221/>
