It is not advised for all to use the source build. The packaging process will solve most if not all of the problems you are facing right now. If you want to start a cluster on ubuntu on AWS please use the official ubuntu package here: https://www.arangodb.com/download-major/ubuntu The package will solve most if not all the problem you might face for installing arangodb to the point of automatic startup after reboot. Also you should have a look at Max Neunhöfer's ArangoDBStarter: http://github.com/neunhoef/ArangoDBStarter for starting a cluster.
