Debian packages a common "xfonts-utils" package similar to our old transitional "xorg-fonts-utils" package and make it depend on it. I guess these encodings may be used more widely. Just checking: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/font/encodings "Font encoding tables for libfontenc" - maybe our libfontenc should depend on it and nothing else. That way "xorg-mkfontscale" would pull it in at build time. -Andy
