Do you have the rotating cube? If so load emerald-theme manager and
select a new theme. Orginally when I first started compiz-fusion, I had
no windows manager even though it said
Setting decorator to Emerald ("emerald --replace") selecting an emerald theme
though from the emerald-theme-manager did the trick for me though.
