I have tried to set the permissions only to Group A in the AL... This did 
not work... everyone who uses the Helpdesk got the Active Link enforced, 
hence every group got the restricted search option. I really don't want to 
do a 2 step process, setting up another field and writing data to it.

Isn't there a Run-if Qual that just checks for permissions?
There has to be something like (Users group = Group A)

How does Remedy do it?
