There are a number of timeouts in play here. The first one is in the Windows registry - the customer is using IE 6 and the default timeout is set to 5 minutes. I had to change that. Whenever I resolve this I'll write it up. Suffice it to say it's in HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Internet Settings/Receive Timeout - I changed the value to 1200000 (milliseconds, IE 20 minutes). Before I did that I'd just get the generic website timed out error. The second one of course is the AR Server/Mid-tier timeouts but those are set fairly liberally. The third set of timeouts is on the BOXI server - they were at 10 minutes - we just changed them to 20 minutes. Testing now.... The fourth set of timeouts are in the config.properties file on both the mid-tiers AND the BOXI server install of the AR Web Report Viewer module. That parameter (credit to Shawn T. who sent me this) is this: arsystem.crt_schedule_interval=5 I changed these to 20 in both places. A quick look at the timeouts tab in server information doesn't provide a quick answer...and a look through the configuring guide didn't provide anything either..the error is obviously a Remedy error...I would expect that there would be a timeout setting somewhere...either that or it's hard coded to 2 min's like a timeout that I recently encountered. ________________________________ From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arsl...@arslist.org] On Behalf Of William Rentfrow Sent: Tuesday, March 17, 2009 1:16 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: ARERR 9387 ** Let me try that again - the error actually means the Crystal report request has timed out - but there's no indication WHY it timed out. The actual BMC docs say "This error occurs when a request is sent to open a Crystal report through the web has timed out". I already knew that............... I can't find it on BMC's website or in the documentation anywhere. I receive this when running larger reports over the web via BOXI/AR Web Report Viewer. Also - and you know who you are - the person with the phone # in their signature that ends in 9387 - you make it VERY hard to search for things :) William Rentfrow Principal Consultant, StrataCom Inc. wrentf...@stratacominc.com Corporate Website, www.stratacominc.com <http://www.stratacominc.com/> 715-410-8156 C __Platinum Sponsor: RMI Solutions ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are" html___ __Platinum Sponsor: RMI Solutions ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are" html___ _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org Platinum Sponsor: RMI Solutions ARSlist: "Where the Answers Are"
