Mark, Randy pointed out an OTB functionality that works great on the user tool, but the web still displays the close button.
The only way that could be done through native ARS workflow is disallow the closure of a window using any other controls except the custom created buttons on the dialog. This could be done by setting a flag, and checking for that flag and displaying an error if that flag is not set on close window. This will prevent that window from being closed.. HOWEVER I am not sure if that will prevent users from closing it using Alt-F4. Joe PS: I wonder why Remedy Engineering never implemented translating that 'Show Close Button in Dialog' to the mid-tier. Maybe it may be a question Doug may be able to throw some light on? ________________________________ From: "Mckinnish, Randy" <randy.mckinn...@compass-usa.com> To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Sent: Wednesday, July 29, 2009 12:39:34 PM Subject: Re: Disable Red "X" ** Mark, This can be done in the active link that calls the dialog window. Look in the area where your field mappings are and take the check out of the box that says “Show Close Button in Dialog”. Works like a charm. Hope this helps. Depending one of several sets of criteria, when a ticket is closed, a dialog window opens asking a series of Yes/No questions before they can save the ticket. Problem is the users are using the X in the upper right hand corner to close the dialog window which breaks the workflow. Because of the many criteria’s used I really don’t want to have to add a field like “Questions Answered” since it might conflict with those users who don’t need to answer the questions.
