404 is generally a permissions issue, so you were right in checking if you lost permissions to that directory.

Since you are using IIS, the directory that those files from the CMC application, should permit the IIS user IUSR_<servername> to view/create/edit/execute objects in that directory.

Make sure that these permissions were not lost for any reasons..

Also make sure that the virtual directory for that application in IIS was not deleted..

Joe,

No, this is not a Mid-Tier issue. Mid-Tier works fine.

This is specifically for what used to be our "InfoView" website (which
my customer used, until it broke) and related "CMC" or "Business Objects
Launchpad" (now "CmcApp"?) configuration pages. None of them work, not
even from the server itself.

By "configuration pages" do you mean the Mid-Tier Configuration pages?

If so, if you do not have any customizations to any of the Mid-Tier jsp
pages, feel free to reinstall it. It will not impact your applications.

If you have made customizations, document these changes, so you can copy
them to the OTB jsp pages after re-installing the Mid-Tier application..

If you do not mean the Mid-Tier "configuration pages", what pages are
you talking about?

Joe

Subject: Crystal Server 2008 Setup

For compatibility-matrix reasons, we decided to do an upgrade from
Crystal Server XI to Crystal Server 2008 (which sounds odd). Anyway,
after install, none of the configuration pages work (404 errors). We
figure it could be permissions-related, considering the "Dept of
Defense" environment. But since everything worked with CRSXI, and
nothing else changed, and it was an in-place and upgrade, we're
baffled.

Attempted URL is http://<servername>:6405/CmcApp

-- Win Server 2008
-- IIS 6 (also testing with IIS 7)
-- ARS 7.6.03
-- Apache Tomcat 6

Any ideas?
