We have our dev arservers on VM envrionment with windows 2008 R2, 8gb
ram , 4 cpu. db is on an oracle rac.
App and db are in the same network segment.
We did not see any slowness.
Compared to a physical server, VM is little bit slow but not very
slow.
Did you try with setting Oracle Cusor sharing to FORCE ?
