In reference to Dave's comment:

... said misunderstandings suggest your 'education' came from corporate media outlets or what is parroted by today's politicians....Perhaps you read or heard someone's misinterpretation and held it as true... Likely from the likes of a Limbaugh or O'Reilly, or another daily capitalist propaganda machine.

I recently discovered a name for such parroting.  It's called "viral marketing." http://tinyurl.com/v222r  In its most virulent form it's known as "Linkbaiting."

Last year, I raised the issue in this group by alluding to Joseph Goebbels:   "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."  I was talking national, and Werner followed through with more local relevance.  They threw Godwin's Law at me and Werner.  If you do a message search with the word "Goebbels," you'll get six hits and find out who "they" are.

Then, as this week, Godwin's Law was misapplied, so I'm glad I discovered the term "viral marketing"; they're less able to distract from the issue at hand with their red herrings.
