Fred you are thinking criminal, I'm thinking civil liability.  The 
bar owner has the duty to protect the patron from acts of violence 
by other patrons.

If Mr. Morrison's family finds their way to my phone number, I'll 
gladly prove that.

I've had many cases in the past just like it.
