PROFESSIONALISM? Comb through MSM's web site yourself; it has nothing but jargon (e.g., "the people coming to the Mission for emergency shelter are suffering from drug and alcohol abuse, which makes these programs ideal feeders for the New Reality of Recovery life change program; the heart of the work of the Market Street Mission.") And yet NO Divinity School or seminary certificates appropriate for pastoral care; NO social worker degrees, NO professional jargon appropriate to social work, mental health, and addiction services. Buried amidst all the puffy type jargon, you will find: * Testimonials: 4 unknown "graduates" and one donor. After decades, only 4 testimonials! * Resources: nothing other than the fundamentalist evangelical network they belong to. And the web sites of those agencies are all about fundraising and seminars about PR/marketing. * * Board of Directors: 11 of 12 do not live in Morristown. * * Comb the Internet for MSM. 645 hits. No awards or commendation from mainstream religious or mental health organizations. The hits are mostly and merely sites which list shelters. * * Fundraising: They don't provide any data for the public record. =============================================== All those government workers streaming in and out of state offices may not be millionaires, but they're not on probation either. I haven't seen many brown-baggers among them at lunch either; but they do take up a lot of parking spaces where once the streets looked like a ghost town. ================================================ ORIGINAL MESSAGE: In a message dated 6/8/2007 11:30:46 A.M.
