Jack, >From my perspective, the issues, in order of seriousness, were trespassing, vandalism, intent to intimidate (terrorize) with words, the ignorance of misrepresenting a candidate's religion, and the implication that Muslim = terrorist. Otherwise all the words in question, in different contexts, could have different connotations. Even the two most commonly thought offensive words above have been used intentionally by minority groups, "in house," as weapons to diffuse their intended negativity. Context is all. Overall, the phrases are an indictment of the speaker/writer more than anything else--theold cliche, "Consider the source."
