Sorry for the double post! I parked on 5th Ave. thinking the affair was closer to where I park. I walked up to the meter thingy, pumched in the number where I was parked, inserted my credit card, which they take an automatic fifty cents, but I added $1.50, to make sure I had enough time. Each quarter = 30 minutes. The machine asked that i press the green button, then it began to emit a sound, which alarmed me, but eventually spit out a little white receipt. Other than that, the parking machine acted civil!
A few drivers slowed down to see what I was doing; curious, I guess. With beach chair, slung over my shoulder and beach baf in hand, I walked from 5th to 2nd, ironically, to the corner of the Stone Pony! I struck up a conversation with some Black visitors from Piscataway, who are clueless about the parking and thought it was free, so I clued them in on how to use the meter thing, just as I did. One of the young ladies thought she had to put the receipt in her window, which I told her was unnecessary, but to hold onto it. The "party" turned out to be a bid for donations, which I gave, but didn't go onto the beach. Buttons became available after a while and I bought 3 for $2.00 each. 2 delegates to the Denver convention, were in charge and since I knew them, I had a great time! One of the visitors was a retired school administrator and he asked me about the superintendant in Freehold, to which I laughed about his "paper" credentials. I said, "I should've gotten my Ph.D, through the mail, since that's all you have to do and we had a good laugh over it, but the laugh's on us, since Wasser, refuses to step down! Anyway, the Wonder Bar was packed as usual, the sun was shining, the breeze off the ocean was delicious and I got some fresh air! --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "sharon_b283" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Is that why the right quotes the left all the time?
