few. very few.

hard work long hours vs family or no family and made tough decisions.
the ability to fire people and were very confident - at least when
they had to be. Some are simply great at thinking quick and having
others trust them - and having even better employees.

I have a friend who is a cfo of a pretty big co. I think he was the
biggest idiot going. But he was a great golfer, great athlete and he
was very confident even when knew nothing in every promotion. Some
people just have what it takes to be great leaders even with lack of
knowledge. Getting others to make you look good works.
