That was an interesting response from Dr. Deka.
I saw the original request. And I understand why no one responded to it. It
was actually quite a childish question.<<
One is most welcome to be as flippant and infantile as one could possibly be,when it comes to India, being praised. It is their choice. To me,the phrase "childish question" falls flat on it's face. But then, nothing surprising, when it comes out of a member, belonging to the "curious lot of NRI",whose bilious hatred towards that country is legendary. What are India's achievements since 1947? Is that an absurd question to ask? Why should one get into a fit over it? What's wrong in highlighting the good that is happening in India rather than to complain about what is not happening? I don't get it.
You said " interesting response from Dr.Deka"---well, I donot live in mystic land, one that thrives on illusion nor do I get convulsion at the very thought of India.I collate informations and draw my own inference from them.To me, India is a state of mind and I am at peace with that):
>> Why else would one want to "put to sleep"all those who don't subscribe to writer's brand of patriotism<<
A rotten potato in a sack of potato--what does one do with the stale one?Simple, throw it away!! One may argue that "they are not potatoes, they are human beings".Elementary again--are they normal human beings, who harbour sentiments such as compassion and love? Hell no.They are plain barbarians, who should not be judged by our civilised standards of fair-play." Brutes only understand brute force".What sort of patriotism do you want me to exhibit?Imported brand--Chinese/Pakis or Afghanis!!
>> it's human weath--they have been fleeing the country by the droves<<
The only reason why a visa is granted to you is that you possess a skill that the US needs.Who provided that skill--almost free of cost? Fundamental once again,INDIA.It would have been next to impossible to make a beeline for the US,had we not been properly trained in the country, you despise so much.Who footed the bill? Poor Indian tax-payers.
>>What has Punjab cost India?What has Nagaland,Mizoram,Assam,Bodoland cost India?<<
What percentage of population of such states supports radical elements is immaterial.Isn't it?" A nation is inseparable from its primeval and psychological territory---the land of its ancestry. That's why,the Madrasi, the Naga,Bengali---of whichever region, always rise to defend their motherland as and when situation demands.Even in the US,there are few groups, who want to cede. They can't raise their ugly head, because secession is punishable by law in this country.
