>>>At the current time, I believe, only immediate practical solution to parents of Asom is to leave this state permanently and send their children for education to Karnataka or Andhra Pradesh (or even abroad) with ultimate aim of permanent immigration to these states. They will get job there, and will die without seeing frustration of being borne as human. -  Bor Deuta” <<<

So far the children of a few well-to-do families are already receiving education outside the state. A few years ago I even found a businessman from Assam educating his small children here in UK.  But it is ludicrous to think of Assamese children leaving the state en masse with a view to studying in better schools outside the state and ultimately settling themselves in the select states of  India.

This is solid pessimism. We ought to think positive. With all-round determination and dedication it would certainly be possible to raise the standard of education in our educational institutions at all levels in the state. I also believe the NRIs can help enormously in this area. It can only be a joint effort. However, I also believe Assam is not as yet ready to receive our help right now.
