Bhuban Da,

NRAs are sometimes seen as not caring for whats happening back home.

I just wanted to point out, that NRAs have been doing things which are
not always publicized (not that it should - left hand not know what
the right is doing..)

In the ASA newsletter (Jan issue), there are some details of some some
of the recent projects, Flood relief and Project Hope (Phase 1). Over
the years there have been many. AANA too may have some projects that
they have launched.

I am sure the people involved with the projects can provide details
about a number of these projects.

The fact that at least some NRAs are trying their best to effect some
small positive change itself is the right step forward.

The NRAs are unlike other NRI groups in some ways. Most NRAs are
professionals and are not in business like the Gujarati NRIs, nor are
our numbers that big to make waves.

I too laud the many NRAs that have over the years organized and
launched these projects.
