I think that the OS is NOT picking up the USB stick for it's own use. I'll try the /dev/hda approach rather than /dev/sda but I thought the whole point of using s CF card and USB combo was that the CF card was write cycle limited as well as pretty slow.
Have I spotted an "undocumented feature" here?
