It’s easy to set the VIP.  As you arrow up or down it says the temperature.  
The whole help system talks, and you can even program it.  There are two 
versions.  The more expensive one is for heat pump type systems.  The one you 
probably want is the 1000 Franklin mentioned.  It’s been around for years.

As far as I am concerned there is still no better thermostat available than the 
VIP thermostats available at talkingthermostats.com.  The Nest that pairs with 
the iPhone is $200, and the app still isn’t very accessible.

I believe I am in needs of a new talking thermistat. I have a talking  one. I 
have had it about ten years. Wondering what is out there that is probably newer 
and maybe better.
