Well you are wrong on that this was made for the blind
This was made by air condition company in La. and I talked to the
designer of this when it first came out . He made it for senior
citizens as they for the most part could not program the earlier
ones , so he made ones that could talk.
This company almost went out of business wit the hurrican that
hit the south many years ago
the guy never thought of the blind when he made this , but I am
glad that he did

The VIP thermostats are completely settable by a blind person. They
were specifically designed for use by the blind.
I would not personally buy any other type of talking thermostat.

As far as I am concerned there is still no better thermostat available
than the VIP thermostats available at talkingthermostats.com. The
Nest that pairs with the iPhone is $200, and the app still isn’t very
accessible.
